Where Is Woodgate?

Woodgate Beach is located approximately 40 minutes south of Bundaberg, an hour north of Hervey Bay and less than 4 hours north of Brisbane. This coastal haven stretches along 16 kilometres of white sandy beach.

Wildlife Encounters

Woodgate is a sanctuary for kangaroos, kookaburras, and even the occasional koala. It’s not uncommon to see them grazing nearby in the early morning or late afternoon.

Kayak, Paddleboard, Kitesurf or Blowkart

Take to the calm waters of Theodolite Creek and the beach. These waterways are ideal for paddling and spotting marine life like turtles, stingrays, dolphins and the occassional whale.

When the wind is right, Woodgate is perfect for kitesurfing or taking a blowkart up the beach at low tide.

Fishing & Crabbing

Whether you’re a seasoned angler or a amateur fisher, Woodgate offers excellent fishing from the beach, creek or boat. Various bait can be found at Theodolite Creek, the beach of bought from the hardware store, general store or caravan park.

Local Dining & Produce

Woodgate has a friendly local pub, cafe and bowls club, perfect for enjoying a  meal. Be sure to try fresh-caught seafood from Garry’s Seafood van at the Woodgate Club or the local Sunday monthly markets.

With minimal light pollution and wide open skies, Woodgate offers unforgettable sunsets and dazzling stargazing. It’s the kind of place where time slows down and nature takes the spotlight.
